Iron Springs Epiphany Ale
(Always drink responsibly. Seek help when alcohol affects your life and the lives of those around you. For readers of a legal drinking age.)
We were busy today prepping for a bacon-themed dinner party tomorrow night (you’re invited if you’re in the area!), and by the time we realized it, the day had already disappeared. With no time to prepare a recipe or go out to a restaurant, I’m left with sharing a beer. I said in early June that I would visit Iron Springs Pub and Brewery in Fairfax by the end of the summer but I didn’t make it, so I’m nursing an Epiphany Ale with 6% ABV and unknown IBU. It’s sharp and biting, which may be attributed to the fact that this is a wheat-free beer. Apparently there aren’t many beers available for people avoiding gluten, so it’s a shame that Iron Springs doesn’t print anything on the label for ease of identification – just trust me, it really is wheat-free. If gluten is an issue in your diet, and/or if you’re looking for beer with a unique flavor profile, this would do it for you.
