Zach is making dinner tonight that is heavy in garlic with a whole bulb per person.  One of my tasks in the kitchen is peeling garlic, so my fingers smell as strong as the aroma coming from the oven.  But when I poured Aroma Coma by Drake’s Brewing, the scent of hops filled my nose and mingled very nicely with the garlic.  That would tell me, sniffing without even sipping, that this is a great beer for pairing with a garlicky meal.  However, it’s also sippable enough that I may finish it before dinner is done.  As a summer IPA with 6.75% ABV and 75 IBU, it’s strong with floral hops and their corresponding bitterness, without being obnoxious in flavor nor mouthfeel.  Too bad this is seasonal, available starting in July until it sells of the shelves, because it’s a beer that I would keep year round.
