Lost Coast Brewing of Eureka is known and fairly common for Californians, but it is a special brewery for those outside of the state.  We’ve become accustomed to seeing the labels at our stores, so we forget that this is actually something worth writing about.  Friend and reader Nicole brought a bottle of Tangerine Wheat Ale when she came for our Cheeseburger and Fries Eating Competition this last Wednesday, so thanks, Nicole!  This brew with 5% ABV/20 IBU was citrusy and mildly sweet but still had the slightest bitterness in the aftertaste.  It was perfect for enjoying with non-chocolate desserts; I sipped it with strawberry rhubarb pie and lemon bars at my family reunion.  For those looking for a good wheat beer with an extra layer, don’t be afraid of this fruity ale.
