The Source Hot Sauce
For the first post in the new Intense Heat category, we had to start with a bang. What better way to do so than with The Source Hot Sauce? This is not just any hot sauce, this is THE hot sauce. Thousands of chilies’ worth of capsicum, totaling 7,100,000 Scoville units, are put into one of the hottest food additives in the world (to give you perspective, habanero peppers rank from 100,000 to 350,000 Scoville units). A toothpick dipped in the extract is enough to haze a fraternity pledge, so it’s meant solely for adding to other foods. We’re happy to have this in our cabinet, because Chef Zach wants to experiment with heat and have a heat-eating dinner sometime soon for our local readers (and any who want to visit us :)).
