Brasserie Dieu du Ciel! Corne du Diable

We had a disappointing dinner tonight. We went out to a new place in order to report on it for you, but we’re not the type to completely drag an establishment through the muck. The alternative is to do a beer!
We live in the shadow of Mt Diablo so I thought it was fitting to try this Quebecois microbrewery’s interpretation of an American-style IPA. Brasserie Dieu du Ciel! gives their dry hopped brew 6.5% ABV, yet due to the intense flavor and aroma of caramel and spices it feels more heady. The IBU is unknown but I think I can safely guess that it’s not too high, since the bitterness was there but not at all strong (in my humble opinion; then again, I like bitter beers). It’s great for all seasons because the balance of flavors makes for a delicately savory beverage, good for both sipping solo and pairing with a meal. Jouissez!
