Rogue Voodoo Doughnut Chocolate, Peanut Butter and Banana Ale

The third and final nod to St Patrick’s Day was this ale like no other. Zach and I promised ourselves to take a trek to Oregon to visit Voodoo Doughnut when we first heard of it years ago. Now that we have this food site, when we do get to go to Voodoo Doughnut we’ll make good use of the opportunity to visit a lot of places along the way.
In the meantime, it’s pretty neat that I found this Rogue-Voodoo Doughnut collaboration with 5.3% ABV and 25 IBUs. Previously they paired up to put out Bacon Maple Ale, which I would love to try if I can get my hands on it. Now they offer this Chocolate, Peanut Butter and Banana Ale, a tribute beer to a tribute doughnut to Elvis with no chemicals, no additives, and no preservatives (like all of Rogue’s brews). It is naturally fruity with some darker undertones, and it’s very easy to drink by itself, but a peanut butter and honey sandwich sounds really good right now to go with what I have left. Maybe I’ll use some of the honey we got yesterday….
